Ötztal Ski Area
Skiing in Ötztal has 6 splendid ski areas including two glacier ski mountains, over 350 slope kms and amazing infrastructures. Sölden and Obergurgl-Hochgurgl, two of the Alps’ most renowned winter regions, can be found in one valley. Snow sport enthusiasts can experience the full variety of winter. But there are also familiar slopes such as in the Hochoetz-Kühtai ski region or the valley’s tiny ski areas of Vent, Niederthai and Gries.

Skiing and snowboarding in Obergurgl
If you’re looking for guaranteed snow, queue-free modern lift system then Obergurgl is the destination for you. The majority of the hotels are 4 star and above. As it is a family resort, many of the hotels offer child activities and are close to the ski school and lifts.
You’ll have quiet scenic pistes suited to all levels of skiing. There is a great ski school, learning area and child friendly snow park. At a height of 1,927 metres the scenic views in Obergurgl are always spectacular.
Sölden Ski Area
One of Europe’s most popular ski and snowboard centres with an excellent reputation: 31 state-of-the-art mountain lifts that are 3340 meters above sea level and 144 slope kms that take you downhill again.
It has 2 glacier ski areas complete with snowmaking systems with a snow guarantee. The Alpine Ski World and fun-filled side events are part of the standard program. Skiers can reach the glacier slopes right from the village.
This High altitude resort with an extensive network of slopes and legendary après-ski scene
Sölden is a totally unique ski area, with three mountains over 3,000 metres and two glaciers – Retttenbach and Tiefenbach, ensuring superb snow conditions and reliability. The ‘BIG 3 Rally’ loop takes you to all of the 3,000m plus peaks on a 50km circuit in a day this will take you to some amazing viewpoints. Skiing is almost exclusively above the tree line with 144 km of world–class skiing for all ability levels, easily accessible by the efficient lift system.
The Area lift pass also covers a further 110km of wide open, cruising runs in the Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski area – you can just jump on the ski bus and spend a day or two exploring this area.
With more than 30 mountain huts and restaurants in the Sölden ski area – be sure to visit ‘ice Q’. Perched on top of the Gaislachkogl peak, recognisable by its glass façade and steel towers, and used as a location in the James Bond film ‘Spectre’.
Lower down in the village, you will find traditional Tyrolean-style buildings that stretch along the valley, and Sölden has a lively atmosphere with many après-ski bars, clubs and a variety of restaurants.

Hochoetz-Kühtai Ski Area
25 mountain lifts plus 88 immaculate slope kilometers take winter sport enthusiasts up to 2000 meters altitude and beyond. The ski area at the entrance to Ötztal makes a true paradise for families and children: ski school, kids’ activity course, WIDI’s Kids Club, an indoor kindergarten and a Snow Village offer a huge choice of holiday activities.
Vent Ski Area
Small area – without any waiting times. Pure winter exploration. This is definitely true for the mountaineering village of Vent at the valley’s rear end. Here you will find snow-white adventures in the clearly arranged ski area offering 15 slope kms and 4 lifts. Vent is the high alpine base for mountain sports, encircled by myriad peaks higher than three thousand meters. Fun on the slopes at the highest altitude. A homely atmosphere, quality and genuine Ötztal hospitality you will find in Vent.
Gries Ski Area
Away from everyday hustle and bustle, the small winter sports village in secluded Sulztal offers a beginner-friendly ski lift including practicing slopes and snow reliability until mid-April.
