Sun Valley is a resort town in Idaho. It’s known for Sun Valley resort’s ski areas at Bald Mountain and nearby Dollar Mountain, the latter with gentler slopes. In summer, the resort has miles of mountain trails, equestrian routes and wildflower-filled meadows. Numerous other trails start from areas around town like Fox Creek and Trail Creek, which offers a path up Proctor Mountain for valley views.

Welcome to the birthplace of destination skiing. With 3,400 vertical feet and over 2,500 acres of diverse terrain, Sun Valley offers skiers and riders something special on two distinct mountains. Bald Mountain’s consistent pitch, lack of lift lines, and variety of terrain have earned it a reputation as one of the world’s finest ski mountains. Twelve chairlifts and 120+ unique runs await skiers and riders on both sides of Baldy. Adding to the Baldy adventure are themed Adventure Trails for kids, with 30 acres of gladed terrain for all ability levels. Meanwhile, Dollar Mountain is the perfect place for kids and beginners to build their confidence and features two high-speed quads, eight terrain parks, and the Wundercarpet, an effortless uphill transporter for kids.
Lessons
Sun Valley is home to two distinct mountains. Our varied terrain creates a challenging and adventurous learning environment for skiers & riders of all abilities. Group and private lessons are available on both mountains. Dollar Mountain primarily serves beginner to intermediate skiers and riders while Bald Mountain (Baldy) is for the intermediate level and higher.
Dollar Mountain: Dollar Mountain’s gentle, treeless terrain makes it the perfect environment to begin your journey into the joys of skiing and riding. Beginner and intermediate skiers & riders can gain the skills, confidence, and miles needed to prepare for the increased demands of Bald Mountain.
Bald Mountain: Bald Mountain is world-famous for its pristine natural beauty, uncrowded slopes, long wide-open trails, and challenging off-piste terrain. This is the perfect place to enhance your skills or find the ultimate challenge. Baldy is recommended for skiers and riders from intermediate to expert.

We take our golf seriously. Our 18-hole Trail Creek championship course, designed by Robert Trent Jones, Jr., spans a sweeping 6,968 yards. The alpine links-style nine-hole White Clouds course offers 3,600 yards of play, with 360-degree views of the Wood River Valley. The Sun Valley Club is open to the public and includes a restaurant, bar, wraparound terraces, a pro shop, locker rooms, club storage, and club rental, and overlooks a 25-acre practice facility and the 18-hole Sawtooth Putting Course.
