The Grand Massif Ski Area
The Grand Massif ski area is one of the largest developed areas in the French Alps. A wide variety of pistes means that everyone, no matter what their ability, can experience the joys of winter sports. 5 resorts make up the ski area: Flaine, Les Carroz, Morillon, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. During your skiing holiday, you can enjoy the snowy slopes in many ways: downhill skiing, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing…It’s right at the centre of the Alpes!
Halfway between Chamonix and Geneva, that Grand Massif welcomes winter sports enthusiasts on a ski area of character and contrasts. Grand Massif fulfils snow fans of all levels with its 139 slopes (25 green slopes ; 59 blue slopes ; 44 red slopes ; 11 black slopes) and give access to large areas with its 62 ski lifts. The area has one of the shortest Airport transfer times of 50 minutes from Geneva airport and is ideal for Ski Short breaks also. Flaine’s panorama presents an extraordinary landscape that combines monumental sculptures, including Dubuffet’s “Copse of 7 Trees” (9.2m tall), Picassos “Head of a Woman” (12m tall) and Vasarely’s “Three Hexagons” (5.3m tall), with a sweeping view of the Mont Blanc mountain range! Situated on a wide sunny plateau and a trendsetter in winter sports activities, the resort has managed to keep its authenticity.
