About Saas Fee
Saas-Fee’s spot on if reliable snow is your number one priority. Most of the 100 km ski area is between 2,500 m and 3,500 m, so conditions are excellent all day long – and you’ve got views of Switzerland’s highest peaks on all sides too. Intermediates can cruise to their heart’s content on reds and blues on the mountain. Or, if you’re just starting out, there’s a separate nursery slope next to the village.
A traditional Swiss village, Saas-Fee does alpine charm to a tee, with wood-clad houses sitting alongside small, family-run hotels. Public cars aren’t allowed in the resort, so the streets are nice and quiet too. Don’t be fooled by the laid-back vibe though – the locals still like a party. Slope side bars fill up from around 3 pm each day, and most places have large outdoor terraces, so you can après al fresco on sunny afternoons.
Lunch at the Revolving Restaurant Allalin is a must. Perched 3,500 m up at the top of the Metro Alpin Funicular, you can watch mountain peaks slip by as the restaurant slowly spins while you eat. After your meal, visit the Ice Cave Allalin next door and venture into the glacier to see sculptures carved from ice.
Holidays in Saas-Fee come with 24/7 phone support. There won’t be an operator Rep in your resort but you can get in touch with them at all times.
