Traditional Swiss village with winter activities and world-famous mountain views.
  • With the Eiger mountain as a backdrop, you’ll never be far from a photo opportunity here.
  • Test your legs and tackle the world’s longest downhill race course – the Lauberhorn.
  • Heaps to do when you’ve finished skiing, from ziplining to trips on the mountain railway.
Grindelwald’s all about easy-going cruising, with long blues and gentle reds criss-crossing the mountains above the village. The south-facing runs on the separate First peak catch the morning sun, and the pistes around Kleine Scheidegg are the ones for tree-lined skiing. As for heading up the hill, you can’t beat the cog railway for charm, but the state-of-the-art Eiger Express gondola is your speediest way to reach the main ski area.

Overlooked by 3,000m summits, the village has the feel of an authentic alpine community, with its timber chalets and family-run hotels. There’s a bustling atmosphere in the centre, and you’ll find plenty of spots to get your après on, whether you’re after somewhere cosy and traditional or a place with a DJ and dance floor.

Taking the train up to the Jungfraujoch station is a must while you’re here. Keep your camera handy – you’ll get impressive views of the Eiger’s north face on the way, then at the top, you can look across peaks and glaciers from the Sphynx Observatory. Or to keep the action going after you’re done skiing, check out the climbing wall and fly through the air on the zipline.

Holidays in Grindelwald come with  the operator's 24/7 phone support. There won’t be a Rep in your resort but you can get in touch with them at all times.

Good to know: For Winter 2025/26, parts of the ski area will close earlier than others, including the nursery slopes. Because of this, group ski school lessons will be unavailable to book for holidays departing 4 April. Private tuition for advanced skiers is available to book locally.
