The family run Hotel Somont benefits from having a great location, snap on your skis and cruise down the short blue run into Selva which gives you access to the wider Dolomites Ski Area, alternatively it is just a 300 metre walk to the centre where you can find a range of shops, bars and cafes. Many of the rooms feature a balcony with a mountain view, so you can enjoy fabulous views of the Sassolungo and the nearby slopes. The charming hotel benefits from having a piste side location, start your day by heading down the short Freina piste down into the center of Selva and take your pick between heading up the Costabella chairlift for access to Alta Badia including Covara & Colfoso, and La Villa and or head up the Ciampinoi gondola for access to Ortisei, Alpe d'Suisi and Val di Fassa.

The Hotel Rodella's has a stunning location on the outskirts of Selva, with amazing views over the valley and mountains. The family have run the hotel for generations and are extremely welcoming and informative. Set on a hill on the outskirts of Selva, the hotel enjoys a peaceful location with incredible views of the Val Gardena - look out for the Sella massif to the east, the spectacular Sassolungo to the south and the Pic to the north. The centre of town is about a kilometers away but there are plenty of options available to get you there and back. Jump on the hotel's free shuttle to and from the lifts or use the free local bus which runs every half an hour at peak times. If the conditions are good, you can even ski straight to the Santa Cristina lift.

Hotel Pralong is a real gem, especially for couples as the hotel does not cater for group bookings. It's located opposite the slopes at the top of Selva with spectacular views over the mountains and forests. The hotel has put a lot of effort into the attention to detail, design and decorations of the hotel. Nature plays a part in all of this, which can be seen throughout the property with candles surrounded by fur cones in the bar area, beautiful, embroidered cushions in the dining room and flowers in reception. The hotel offers a cosy retreat for your Italian ski holiday - each of the rooms are furnished in a Tyrolean style with wood and cosy furnishings, plus they are equipped with everything needed for a comfortable week including internet access and a TV.

Dating back to 1986, Hotel Oswald was once considered to be the best hotel in the Dolomites and remains one of Selvas’ most historic hotels. The Oswald retains its charm; the cosy rooms are spacious and furnished with warm wood throughout and many of them have lovely views of the resort and surrounding mountains. The charming Hotel Mignon has been a family-run hotel for more than 50 years. The hotel is situated on the edge of town, so getting onto the slopes couldn't be easier - the Ciampinoi Gondola is only a five-minute walk away and there's a free shuttle that'll take you there in the mornings. The centre of Selva is within walking distance too, where you can find various shops, cosy cafes and bars. The Mignon ticks all the boxes for a winter retreat, warm wood and cosy furnishings are seen throughout the hotel and bright, spacious bedrooms with views of the surrounding Dolomiti mountains are perfect for your stay in Selva.

Hotel Aaritz has an unbeatable location right in the centre of Selva directly opposite the Ciampinoi gondola. The hotel offers elegance - a grand staircase leads down to the lounge with a log-burning fireplace and comfy sofas. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and they all come with a balcony and views over the valley or the village. You couldn't ask for a better location. Set on the main high street of Selva, the Ciamponoi gondola station is just opposite the hotel so you can easily get onto the fabulous Dolomiti Ski Area. If you want to ski on the clockwise circuit of the Sella Ronda, the Costabella chairlift is around a five-minute walk which takes you to the Dantercepies run - from here you have access to the lovely red run heading back towards Selva or can drop down into Colfsco and Covara.

The warm and welcoming Hotel La Chaudanne has an excellent location in Meribel just a short walk away from the slopes. After a day on the slopes make the most of the Nuxe Spa or relax in the cosy lounge with a drink. Offered on a bed and breakfast basis you can dine in the hotel’s restaurant Le 80, known for its outstanding cuisine - plus there is live music throughout the winter season, which changes depending on the time you head down for dinner.
