Step inside though, and there’s a sleek, minimalist feel throughout, with white walls and plenty of light, wood panelling. As for heading up the mountain, it’s a 6-minute minute walk to the Solaise gondola – or hop on the free ski bus that stops opposite and save your legs for the slopes instead.

If good-value and a central location are top of your wish list, the Rendlhof’s for you. It’s just down the road from St Anton’s pedestrianised high street, a short stroll from all the shops, bars and restaurants in the village. You can walk to the Nasserein gondola from here too or hop on the free ski bus just outside to get to the Galzigbahn and Rendl gondolas.
