Belambra Hotel Le Diva, Tignes Val Claret
For a great location in Val Claret, the Diva is hard to beat. It’s opposite the Tichot chairlift and just a few minutes’ walk from the funicular up to the Grande Motte glacier, and you can ski almost back to the door on a red or blue run. Once you're done, sit on the terrace to look out over the slopes, or head to the Irish pub to party 'til late. The hotel itself is a simple, no-fuss place, with traditional stone and pops of red from the carpets and cushions. There’s a big lounge and bar when you can kick back in the evenings or get your zen on in the sauna and steam room instead.
Hôtel Le Val d’Isère, Val d’Isere
This chalet-style hotel has a prime spot right in the heart of the resort. Step outside and it’s only a short stroll to Val d’Isère’s shops, restaurants and lively bars. And when it’s time to head to the slopes, just nip down to the boot room to collect your ski and boots, toasty warm thanks to the heated boot racks, and walk 5 minutes to the main Solaise gondola. Inside, the cosy bar and lounge is a great place to relax after a day on the slopes.
Hotel Ormelune, Val d’Isere
Funky and fun, Ormelune doesn’t look like your average alpine hotel. The hotel has a chic design, full of vibrant colours and quirky modern art – a fresh take on ski accommodation. The hotel sits at the heart of the resort, where you’re just around the corner from the shops, bars and restaurants, not to mention less than a 5-minute stroll from the Solaise and Bellevarde gondolas. So, after a day on the slopes, you can quickly find yourself relaxing in the sauna or unwinding with a soothing massage.
Hotel Victoria Lodge, Val d’Isere
Alpine charm meets Scandi chic at the Victoria Lodge – a stylish, modern stay just a short stroll from the heart of the old village. Built from chunky stone and timber, the building itself has that authentic Savoyard look. Step inside though, and there’s a sleek, minimalist feel throughout, with white walls and plenty of light, wood panelling. As for heading up the mountain, it’s a 6-minute minute walk to the Solaise gondola – or hop on the free ski bus that stops opposite and save your legs for the slopes instead.
Hotel Rendlhof, St Anton
If good-value and a central location are top of your wish list, the Rendlhof’s for you. It’s just down the road from St Anton’s pedestrianised high street, a short stroll from all the shops, bars and restaurants in the village. You can walk to the Nasserein gondola from here too or hop on the free ski bus just outside to get to the Galzigbahn and Rendl gondolas.
Banyan Hotel, St Anton
The hotel is in one of St Anton’s prime spots here. It’s less than 10 minutes’ walk to both main gondolas, then when you’re done for the day, you’ve got all the après action in the centre nearby too. It might look traditional on the outside, but inside the Banyan is modern from top to toe. Creams, reds and blacks give each room a smart look, with chunky wooden beams to keep those alpine vibes alive. It doesn't skimp on the cosy touches either – like in the bar and lounge, where you can drop on a comfy chair in front of the fire and spend the evening sipping a local tipple or two.
